July 2021 Free Gift . Palomino Sherry
Thanks to our friends and partners at Barbadillo in Spain, we are offering all of our subscribers a free half bottle of Nave Trinidad, produced from the Palomino grape in Manzanilla - Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Delicious served cold with olives and almonds on the side, the wine is tangy, zesty and vibrant - unfiltered to retain subtle textures, this is a reminder of its fresh white wine origins, with the fruit of the grape still apparent before the flor turns it into a typically salty and minerally Manzanilla.
WHITE WINES
Tenuta Barbon (Vegan) Brioso Spumante Extra Dry . Villorba, Italy
This fresh sparkling white is pale yellow in colour with a fine perlage, supported with elegant fruit and flower notes. Delicious as an appetiser or with starters, it is a perfect pairing with Mediterranean-style dishes, and is excellent to pair with an entire meal.
Produttori de Govone Farinel Cortese . Piemonte, Italy
This light and fresh 100% Cortese is produced in low volumes, with low alcoholic content at a high altitude and is dry, velvety on the palate and mellow. An excellent food-pairing white wine to marry with apertitif dishes, fish and cheeses. Fresh, crisp and delightful!
Henri de Richemer 2019 Cap d’Agde . Côtes de Thau, France
Produced on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, this refined, round and aromatic white has a bright yellow colour with intense green hues, the nose is complex and rich in aromas of large-stone fruit such as white peach and apricot. A lovely, easy-drinking and pleasant wine perfect for aperitif or pairing with fish and seafood dishes.
ROSÉ WINES
Viverello 2020 Rosato Verona . Italy
The fruit was crushed and held in the press where it was cold macerated for 24 hours to extract colour from the skins. The wine displays fresh fruit characters of cherry and strawberry both on the nose and palate. The palate is dry and displays summer red berry fruit characters which linger and finish fresh and crisp. Drink and enjoy over the summer months!
RED WINES
Borgo Lame Cartunè 2020 Dolcetto . Monferrato, Italy
This young and ruby red voloured Dolcetto is delicate and fruity, with red berries, cherry and violet notes. On the palate, the wine is velvety with excellent soft drying tannins slightly tannic, a great drinker and highly adaptable to many styles of gastronomy but especially tomato-based meat dishes.
Tagua 2019 Carménère . Valle Central, Chile
Intense ruby red colour, this wine has soft floral aromas and herbal tones with red fruits and vanilla on the palate. The wine has delicate but firm tannins with a medium lenth finish that marries perfectly with Asian cuisine and meals that include meat and spice.
AvóQuina Vinho Tinto . Leiria, Portugal
This excellent Portugese red has a bright grenadine colour, structred and fruity, both smooth and soft on the palate. Perfect with barbecues, red meat and strong cheeses.
