December 2021 Free Gift . Eden Mill Spiced Rhubarb Gin
Bright and zingy, with a sharp fruit tang reminiscent of rhubarb rock. The aroma is led by a rich fruity spice, with red currant, mango and earthy rhubarb balanced by notes of ginger and cardamom. Vanilla adds to the picture, evoking images of confectionery such as cardamom buns and marzipan.
WHITE WINES
Château des Hauts de Fontaneau 2020 . Bordeaux, France
Clean, fresh and with citrus characters, that show great acid structure, this Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend from entre Deux Mers is perfect for aperitif or for recptions. A lovely wine to pair with shellfish, seafood and sushi or ceviche.
Folgorosa 2020 Vinho Branco . Lisboa, Portugal
This is a blend of Arinto, Gouveio and Viognier and is fresh and vibrant. The wine is straw with green tinges, with citrus aromas and tropical fruit notes of pineapple and citric apple. On the palate, clean and pure and perfect with fish and salads.
Barking Owl 2017 Chardonnay . Western Australia
Crisp with characters of white nectarine, honey melon and cashew, vanilla tones. The mid-weight palate shows good balance between rounded fruit, nutty oak and vibrant acids. Great with veal or salmon dishes, especially Asian dishes where the food complement has some caramelisation involved in the cooking process.
ROSÉ WINE
Giuliana Vicini 2020 Rosato . Abruzzo, Italy
Soft-pressed Montepulciano D’Abruzzo grapes produce a delicate light pink wine with floral and fresh fruit aromas and herbaceous nuances. Beautifully balanced, soft and fresh with a slight nutty almond finish. Sharing optional!
RED WINES
Château Le Cluzet Bordeaux 2019 Rouge . France
This vibrant red wine is produced from 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet France and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Soft blackcurrant fruit offers secondary characters of mocca chocolate and light spice leading to a beautifully balanced finish. Perfect with cold-cuts and cheese or red meat main courses.
Folgorosa 2016 Vinho Tinto . Lisboa, Portugal
This is a blend of Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional and Syrah and what a wonderfully balanced wine it is! Intense ruby colour with a captivating aroma of red fruits and subtle floral notes. On the palate, the wine is soft and balanced and perfect with meat dishes or with cold-cuts and cheese as an aperitif.
Sauv’Terre 2018 Bordeaux Rouge . France
Luminous garnet colour, offering a surprisingly aromatic complexity. The ripe fruit notes give way to brioched and tannins. This rich and dense 100% merlot is a true celebration of flavours. Perfect with red meat, game and cheeses.
